Dream Career

For 5th period:
1. Read ALL of the instructions first.
2. You will be creating a Powerpoint presentation for your final project.
3. Go to the following webpage and take the career assessment. 
4. After you are done, make several slides that tell me about your assessment findings.  (What characteristics did the assessment say that you have?)
5. Talk to someone who knows you well.  Ask them if THEY think the assessment is accurate.  Give me THEIR opinion of what you would be good at doing for a career.
6. What careers does this site recommend for you based off of your assessment?
7. Pick ONE career that looks interesting, intriguing, or you were not expecting to see show up.  Do some in-depth research on that career.  Tell me: What kind of education you need to get it? How much does it take? What is the job demand for it (are there a lot of jobs available?) What would you DO for that job? (ie, what does a vet actually do????)
8. For extra credit, find someone who is in that career and interview them.  (ask them the above questions.) Then, summarize your conversation.  (This can be done via email, phone, or person.)
***The types of questions that you should ask are: How did you get this job? What kind of education do you need to get this job? Where did you go to college? How long did college take for this job? What experience do you need to get this job? Are there lots of jobs in this career? (Is it easy to get a job doing this?) What do you DO in your typical day?
